3 Key Topics of the ABA Regulatory Compliance Conference
We’re just a days away from the ABA Regulatory Compliance Conference in New Orleans, which starts this Sunday, June 8, and goes until June 11th. Here at TRUPOINT Partners, we’ve been excitedly gearing up for it. It’s always a great event, and we know 2014 will be no different.
We’re taking next week to gain an understanding of industry happenings from other perspectives, to get exposure to new ideas and trends, and to engage in dialogue with industry experts. We're looking forward to seeing old friends, making new ones, and reviewing these 3 key topics in regulatory compliance.
As always, we look forward to catching up with our old friends and long-term partners. The ABA Regulatory Compliance Conference is a unique gathering of industry professionals. This year, Trey, Andy, Kimberly, and I will attend. At the conference, we will get an even clearer sense of our clients' and colleagues’ biggest concerns. We will all be using this experience to consider ways to help our clients improve their financial institutions’ compliance programs and performance.
We’re also really looking forward to meeting new friends and colleagues. This conference attracts a diverse range of industry professionals, from compliance officers to regulators, and more. It’s an important forum for us to communicate with other thought leaders in the industry, and refresh our perspective through their insights. We’re looking forward to taking advantage of this opportunity to engage face-to-face with members of the compliance community..
Lastly, we’re especially excited about the opportunity to learn from our peers and industry experts, and explore new ideas. Three topics on the agenda stand out:
HMDA: Same Song, New Verse - With speculations swirling, we’re looking forward to discussing those long-awaited changes to HMDA and HMDA Plus.
Lessons Learned from the Recent Fair Lending Workshop - Fair Lending continues to evolve, and the Fair Lending Workshop will be an excellent place to have an open dialogue with other industry pros. We hope to continue the conversation throughout the conference, and discuss anticipated regulatory focal points as well as practical lessons learned.
Discussing Disparate Impact Risk – While mortgage lending has been a major element of regulatory compliance in recent years, we’re particularly looking forward to reviewing disparate impact risk beyond mortgage lending.
Among other trends, these three issues will be important in 2014. We’re looking forward to hearing valuable insight from our colleagues in the industry. This year is all about initiating dialogue, gaining perspective, and improving our approach. We’re hope to see you there!
